They are violating there natural rights by saying if they kneel they will be fired , according to the 1st amendment “the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances“ so that tells you they can exersice there natural rights.

This greatly matters because the political cartoon illustrates a protest that many NFL players are against Trump and police brutality. This is implying that There's no liberty in American for some individuals. For example in the article, from many people like Donald Trump and his supporters, have criticized, attack, and discriminate those players who took a knee; due to them thinking that they are unpatriotic and terrorizing America. In truth the NFL players who are taking a new are practicing their first amendment right, which is the "Right to protest".

This cartoon implicates that before a sports game and durning the national anthem a lot players are kneeling down to protest it. This is causing for Donald trump to be mad and feel disrespected when all the players are doing it using their first amendment. This matters because Trump thinks he is making America great again but all he is doing it making it worse.

"President" Trump deliberately antagonizes people to where a reaction must occur. His actions caused the NFL to have a reaction which was like a protest during the national anthem. Some teams didn't come out, as well a took a knee, and also locking arms.

This matters because she feels like their's no more Liberty anymore. In the article Running Back LeSean McCoy states, "I cant stand and support something where our leader of this country is just acting like a jerk". I think this running back has every right not to stand support donald because he hasn't been a good president lately, nor has he been making the best decisions for this country or any other country at that. So like statue Liberty and LeSean i would not stand either.

The NFL players are taking a knee during the national athem due to the fact that the president does not enforce the laws that are in the Bill of Rights. They also are trying to send a message of a unity and being together. According to the Los Angeles Times, "... But we just wanted to send a message of unity and begin together and not standing for the disrespect and different ways guys felt." Therefore taking a knee matters because it shows how the NFL players practice their individual rights.

This cartoon matters because it is an implication of how our country has been against social injustice more specifically our athletes. Where they feel as a country, they haven’t been excercising the natural rights of “life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness”. So in a way to protest that they take a knee or stay in the locker rooms during the national anthem. It’s a very controversial topic as Donald Trump has called these players “sons of b******” and suggest that they should be fired. First of all the lone fact of calling the players that is out right disrespectful and is contradicting the fact of how some people have been treated in this country.

This event matters because it shows that people are exercising their 1st amendment. The 1st amendment allows people to protest peacefully and that is what these athletes are doing. Athletes from various sports are taking knees, linking arms, or even staying inside the locker room during the playing of the national anthem. For example in the Los Angeles Times’ article it states: “ The Bills’ Lesean McCoy kneeling during the national anthem, said the president was “acting like a jerk.” I agree with him and the action that these athletes are doing. They are standing up for what they believe in by kneeling. They are trying to bring attention to the racial injustice that is happening in America.

I still believe that athletes should take a knee during the national anthem. With my new found evidence from the article "Eric Reid: Why Colin Kaepernick and I decided to take a knee" it states "...including systemic oppression against people of color, police brutality and the criminal justice system." This quote shows hows the people are standing up to injustice and that is why these athletes are taking a knee.

The 1st amendment gives all people the right of freedom of speech, protest, and religion. On the Los Angeles Times 9/25/27 states,” Treasury Secretary T. Mnuchin, On ABC’s “This Week”, declares that NFL players were welcome to express political opinions - off the field.” The 1st amendment does not include when or where people can protest. Therefore, NFL players and other sports have the right to protect in any way. I believer the trend of protesting during the national anthem will continue and more people will participate.

For example, "Faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.” I knew I needed to stand up for what is right.I approached Colin the Saturday before our next game to discuss how I could get involved",(Eric Reid). This shows how players are uniting towards protesting what they believe.

The implication of this cartoon is to illustrate how this nation is no longer a nation that respects everyone's natural rights. The Statue of Liberty is kneeling one one knee exactly how a variety of NFL players did during the national anthem. As Lesean McCoy states in an article from Los Angeles Times: "I can't stand and support something where our leader of this country is just acting like a jerk." This quote illustrates how an U.S. citizen feels about our President and what our nation has become. As the Bill of Rights displays, our first amendment is the right to freedom of speech, which every U.S. citizen in inclined to have. All in all, everyone has the right to protest their feelings and voices about our society.

The implications of this political cartoon imply the lack of unity of the U.S and complete neglect. People in the U.S are being criticized for their beliefs which is the complete opposite of what should be happening. For instance, the first amendment states " Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances." In other words, this states that the constitution of the U.S guarantees the right of free expression. Today, the NFL players are kneeling down as a sign of unity which is missing in today's society.

The implications of this cartoon is protesting against social injustice and racism. On September 22, 2017, the ignorant Donald Trump made some comments at a rally with a large number of white people in Alabama. The "Taking a Knee" protest started last year with a quarterback from San Francisco; Colin Kaepernick. This year, the "Take a Knee" protest expanded and lead to more sports protesting. The protest is either to kneel, sit down or link arms during the National Anthem, "... Both teams either knelt or locked arms..."

Colin Kaepernick was not alone when he first started the kneeling protest back in 2016. Kaepernick's 'partner' was Eric Reid, who was there to "promote" the protest against racism. Reid stated, "Colin Kaepernick chose to sit on the bench during the national anthem to protest police brutality. " At the time, unarmed African American's were getting murdered by police, left to right, which fueled the protest against the flag. "we could make a more powerful and positive impact on the social justice movement." Reid clearly stating that they want to be heard, but their doing it peacefully, but still getting bashed on the "disrespect". Therefore, I still agree with what I previously said, the "Take a Knee" protest is a peaceful protest that WILL continue until we get the rights we deserve.

The statue of liberty is suppose to stand tall and proud for everyone to see. But this cartoon shows her kneeling with a distraught look on her face. What Trump said at that rally had ignited a protest all across sports. Team players have kneeled down, linked by the arms or not even there when the national anthem is being sung. This is a protest started by a football player Colin Kaepernick kneeled while the national anthem was playing.

The Bill of Rights consist of ten Amendments which gives people rights. Particularly, the 1st Amendment involves freedom of religion, speech, press assembly, and petition. An article from Los Angeles times by Robert Gauthier brings up an issue that happened on Sunday and Trumps viewpoint on the way that many NFL players disrespected the National Anthem. The cartoon implicates that Donald Trump is being antagonist over individuals Natural Rights. This political cartoon is trying to implicate that there is no more freedom in our ‘great’ country. It is simply kneeling down to which implies that they’ve given up, a sign of surrender. This correlates to the recent protest of NFL players, whom on Sunday exercised their Bill of Rights and in the 1st Amendment states that they have the freedom of speech, freedom of religion, freedom of assemble, and freedom of protest. These athletes are so wrongfully getting punished and kicked out of the team by “not respecting the flag” This protest was to draw attention to racism and social injustice and people believe that it was because the color of the team’s skin that Trump is depicting them. People have the right to speak and should not be punished for their natural rights

It matter because everyone has natural rights so anyone can choose to stand or knee during the time of the anthem. Sport players around the world are taking a knee to show they disapprove the racial remarks of Donald Trump and the criticism. I don't think nothing wrong of it the 1st amendment stated freedom of speech, life, liberty, and property and no one should criticise anyone for taking a knee if they do not believe they should. The Statue of Liberty represents freedom. Recently Donald Trump has trie to "take away" the 1st Amendment, from the Bill of Rights, from NFL players. The 1st Amendment says that we have the right to freedom of speech, religion, to assemble and protest. Trump said, "This has to do with respect to our country and respect for our flag". He is talking about respect for our country but he is not respecting the fact that our country gives us the right to protest. How can we have respect for a country, though, if there is so many issues that should not be happening? I would like to see him start honoring our Natural Rights given by the Constitution and I think people will continue to protest.

The actions of the NFL players are justifiable. During the National Anthem, many football players were either kneeling down or linking arms. Many people believe that this was an act of disrespect because the military go to wars to risk their life to keep our life safe. In the NFL Los Angeles Times article on September 24, 2017, it states, “‘...we just wanted to send a message of unity and being together and not standing for the disrespect and different ways guys felt.’” In the Statue of Liberty, the monument states “give me your poor and your weak”, welcoming the immigrants to America. Why is it that people of color are not welcomed in America? Therefore, the Statue of Liberty is kneeling down with a concerned face about how this country is treating other individuals and their rights.

The NFL players are in their right to protest against the constitution because of who is in presidency, Trump. In and article of LA times, published on the 25th of September, it says," Although Trump retweeted an encouragement to boycott the NFL, he told reporters he would not call on his supporters to do so." From this eveidencw we can see that although Trump is not entitling his name to boycotting the NFL, he is giving ideas to do so. This act is going against the First amendment in the Bill of Rights because is is causing Trump to want to take action though, protesting is their right.

This cartoon connects with the action of taking a knee that has been happening recently. The action of taking a knee is done when the national anthem is played as a form of resistance. Those taking a knee are fighting against the false ways of portraying freedom and liberty. The freedom talked about does not include those colors given the mistreatment of colored folks. This is why athletes are taking a knee and fighting back even more so given what Trump recently said about being a, "Son of a bitch" if someone doesn't stand up and respect the flag. This caused even more athletes to come together and unite and fight against the comments from this President.

This quote illustrates the topic of the conversation that Reid and Kaepernick had before one of their games. Earlier, Reid read a social media post about a young black man killed by the police in his own hometown. This inspired him to take action in the protest with Kaepernick. To explain more, the Statue of Liberty is on on knee, symbolizing what the protest that the NFL players have currently been performing. Even though the Bill of Rights is evidence that we have the freedom of speech, the president and some U.S. citizens have a problem with the NFL players protests.
