Only 7% of LAUSD high school students have returned to reopened campuses, far less than expected. Why do you think this is the case? What will it take for you and your peers to feel positive about returning to campus?

I think they have only allowed 7% so that they can properly test the safety precautions they have made for the students. It would make me feel positive about returning to in class learning if covid cases were really low and a big percentage of staff and students to be vaccinated

Isaac, I agree with you in that a large group of students and their families want to be clear of the safety protocols. It has been a difficult year with many changes in thoughts and social norms surrounding safety and physical interactions. It appears Los Angeles county may be headed toward what is known as herd immunity where Covid-19 transmissions will be low in part due to vaccines and exposure to the virus.

I agree with the belief that many students are hesitant to return to campus because they are unvaccinated. Returning to school too early would have put both themselves and their families at great risk. I feel positive about returning to campus because both me and my parents are now fully vaccinated. I believe that my peers would also have to have themselves and those who live at home with them vaccinated before they also feel confident on returning back to campus.

I mean technically schools are putting restriction on how many people can come to campus and I think kids don't want to go back because of the cases still until the schools prove theres no more case by starting at schools. What I mean by this is that to show that at school you wont get you sick.

I think only 7% of students are returning to campus because their parents are making them attend since the parents have work. I wouldn't want to be apart of the 7% of students because of the fear I will carry around with me. I haven't gotten the virus throughout the pandemic because Ive been cautious and I dont want to get the virus because I decided to return to campus. So I think I would wit till everyone is vaccinated and there are really low covid cases, then I would consider returning back to campus.

I think students are returning to LAUSD district school because thy're trying to reinforce student going back to campuses and going back to somewhat normal school. It will take the school and governor to really consider the fact of putting all these innocent kids on campus with the pandemic still going on. I would like it to be fully cleared, meaning cases are dropped and at the lowest point. The vaccine is a start but not enough for me to risk my life and my family's life from getting sick. I don't trust the vaccine until I see some affects that are caused from the vaccine.

I dont feel safe going back because it can put i and family at home in risk of catching it and not everyone has got vaccinated. i am not vaccinated yet so i do not feel safe going back to school not only for my safety but also for others safety near me and around me.

I feel like we should go back to school in person because for me, I larn better in person and i feel like there's a lot of people that agree with me. Some people are failing more than they have or would have if they were in person.

I believe that only 7% of LAUSD high school students have returned because it is public so they I believe that they feel as if they should be more careful considering they have more students in each school than greendot. I will feel better about returning to campus when the cases of covid in the area decrease.

Since only 7% of students went back on campus, the parents who doesn't let their child go back to school is probably worried about the consequences and also their safety of other students along with themselves, I honestly don't want to go back to school since i'm worried for my safety and other students as well, even going out in public for a bit makes me paranoid so just going to classes with lots of other students is a big noo xdd

i think only 7 % went back because the parents are worried that they wont be safe and theyll catch covid . Students might not want to go back due to things being different they wont go back to the same envioment they used to be in

i think only a selected few went back to school because the school district wants to make sure that its safe enough to bring the students back. i would feel safer if there were less covid cases and more people getting vaccinated

i think we should wait because some kids don't like to have the mask on because its to hot and they walk around with there mask off so they should wait into the cases are going slow because right now there 5000
cases and we might have to go back on lock down
