Somewhere in between this year's elections I began to doubt the effectiveness of the poles and how well they would compare. Fortunately, I became surprised with the results and how much they actually matched up with the polls. I am very pleased with the results of the elections and despite the fact that Trump is doing his best to try and sue his way out of the hole he's dug, I place no interest in that aspect of the election because he's too far in to win. The court disputed most of his attempts at overturning the election and I stay hopeful with the idea that they will continue to do the same.

I think the importance of this event is historical with the high political divide and tension that either presidential candidate that will take office;it will be with a divided country. This to take with Donald Trump´s flurry of lawsuits seem like an attack on the democracy of the United States. Donald Trump actions was not an unexpected one with his political career vying on fear and hate. In the article, "The Abnormal Presidency¨,by David Montgomery it talks about Trump´s ¨unpresidential¨ method, which was his way of getting things done. This method full of antics of breaking norms was seen by his supporters of doing something right, rather than following the D.C elites. This will all change the political landscape and it will be Joe Bidden and future presidents to re-craft norms and unite this country.

I agree with brain. The results and polls were a shock. They went really smoothly even though many of the states did take a little to long to vote. And there was other people like trump who did not believe it was a fair election and even out lawsuits on many states.

My thoughts about this event was ended with pleased with the outcome because we got rid of Trump who is racist and has no interest in helping the people of America with out problems in life, such as the pandemic and more. Joe Biden is going to actually play the whole of what a president should do. He talked about unity in the newsela article he stated that "No, the purpose of our politics, the work of our nation, isn't to fan the flames of conflict, but to solve problems, to guarantee justice." what he means by this is to come together as one and he will solve the issues of the pandemic and immigration and many more. I am also happy to hear that we have our first black women to be vice president, I feel like she will be a good vice president and actually help and make change to our country

The 2020 election was deceptive at first, but ended just as planned. A Financial Times, Polls from before the election commenced portrayed the election being won by Biden. The poll reveals that Biden would have won the election 290:131 with 117 toss up points at grabs for either candidate. This show that regardless of the initial potential that Trump showed in the beginning of the election when he had a majority of key states won, was nothing but a ‘red mirage’ due to the lack of mail-in ballots counted. After having regained my serenity and trust in the election, I became very pleased with the results as I know that this was not a hard-fought battle that we should have been worried about because the results were a fixed destiny.

My thoughts is how Biden is going to bring people together same as the U.S. and how he is going to address racism. First he had address covid and what hes trying to get approved. Then the racism in america by addressing and acknowledging the racism that occur.

Unlike Trump, who is notorious for denying systematic racism, Biden constantly acknowledges systematic racism and claims that he is ready to act against it via reforms when he steps into office. One instance where this happened was during a news interview with O'Donnell. When asked if he believed in systematic racism Biden replied, "Absolutely, But it's not just in law enforcement, it's across the board. It's in housing, it's in education, and it's in everything we do. It's real. It's genuine. It's serious. And it is — it is able to be dealt with". He's also addressed this type of racism in the presidential debates and in his speech after becoming president-elect.

I agree with you Santana because trump has proven many times before that he is what many people see him as. For example news reports have videos and voice messages of him being a bigot and a rsacist, calling mexicans terrorist, rapist, and aliens. Many people choose to ignore it for a number of reasons. Despite the negative person trump is biden is helping everyone out despite race religion and wealth, He is fair and thinks justly of how rich should pay more than the poor due to them having more benifites. I believe biden will make good of his position nd strive for his best to help everyone.

I agree with your statement and I also believe that Joe will try to fix the racism and the covid. The evidence that I found was from, "Biden wins White House, vowing new direction for divided U.S." It state that, "Biden also drew a contrast to Trump through a summer of unrest over the police killings of Black Americans including Breonna Taylor in Kentucky and George Floyd in Minnesota. Their deaths sparked a protest movement. Biden responded by acknowledging racism in America. Trump emphasized his support of police and presented a "law and order" message to his largely white base." This important because this will have the country be closer than ever even though it's for a bit.

The 2020 election to me is a big part of history. I am happy about the results of who the winner was. I like how Kamala Harris is making history for people of color and women every where. she is the first female vice president, and the first colored women vice president ever. Also i believe trump is just mad that he lost and is just saying non sense like all the votes were not counted. He is just mad and upset due to how he basically humiliated himself stay confident he was going to win but lost. Hes nothing but a baby while Kamala Harris and Joe Biden are making history.

The 2020 election has been interesting and I'm so glad that Biden won xdd. I don't know why people still voted for Trump considering that he was okay with the police harassing and killing (specifically black) people and he showed no sign of concerns towards them which i find to be inhuman. He was suppose to set an example of someone good but this year showed that he's a irresponsible person who shouldn't be at the hands of our safety.

I think the importance of this event is to bring people back together and reunite america.Biden had already received more than 74 million votes. It was more than any presidential candidate before him.One piece of evidence from bidens wins white house vowing new direction for divided U.S. “ The pandemic will soon be Biden's to handle. He promised a big government response during his campaign. This may not be possible though. For Biden to get many of his goals through Congress, he would need support from lawmakers in both branches of Congress, the House and the Senate.”This shows how he is trying to make plans to change and bring together the people.

On the election i felt like biden deserved to win after everything trump put us through these past 4 years . Especially cause trump was unprofessional he wasnt formal . Everything that came out of his mouth was truly disgusting. I think the importance of this event is that Joe Biden and Kamala Harris have won one of the most Historic elections of America. In the article by Associated Press titled “Biden wins White House, vowing new direction for divided U.S.” it states that the highest number of American engagements happened in the 2020 presidential election. One piece of evidence from the article that supports my stance is, “Americans showed deep interest in the presidential race. A record 103 million voted early this year, opting to avoid waiting in long lines at polling locations during a pandemic.” This shows that the 2020 election was one of the most influential elections in America’s history.

I think the importance of this event is to connect races and cultures. In the article by the Associated Press titled “Biden wins the election, bringing s new direction that divided U.S.” it states that Biden’s goal is to unite everyone together. In the Kamala Harris section, “It explains that this year had the most Racial tension in the U.S between black people and the police.” This shows that Kamala Harris and Joe Biden has a plan to stop Racism, In order to move on and try reunite every Culture/Race. Next we can expect the following Less Racial tension and Figure out a cure for COVID. In the article by the Associated press “Kamala Harris has a plan to stop racial tension rising, Also is trying to find a cure for COVID19. One piece of evidence from COVID has caused us to close down schools and businesses will be able to finance their stability. That supports my stance that they are trying to find a cure for COVID19. This makes is clear that we are super close to find a cure for COVID19 and we will be able to go out to places again. In conclusion, We need to keep following the guidelines of the CDC; in order to stay safe and to not get infected with the virus.

My thought about the 2020 elections is that Biden will made the US respected like it was and not like Trump making us seem like a joke and also anything can happen in the US we got the first female vice president which shown how much we changed. Biden will unite all of us and he gave us hope. Trump likes to lie in front of our faces and stead negative things about us. Choosing Biden builds of a character of what we what our society to be and not like Trump that dived us and look down on us and supports the rich and white supremacy .‘’Biden was on track to win the national popular vote by more than 4 million. That number could grow as ballots continue to be counted.

I think the importance of this event is that Biden has a new, different and better perspective to see and do the things than Trump, so that this country will be better. In the article by the Associated Press titled “Biden wins White House, vowing new direction for divided U.S ” it states that Biden plans to support each group of people in the United States. One piece of evidence from “Biden wins White House, vowing new direction for divided U.S. ” says “Biden also drew a contrast to Trump through a summer of unrest over the police killings of Black Americans including Breonna Taylor in Kentucky and George Floyd in Minnesota. Their deaths sparked a protest movement. Biden responded by acknowledging racism in America. Trump emphasized his support of police and presented a "law and order" message to his largely white base.” This evidence shows one of many other proposals that Biden plans to do. This piece of the evidence from the article exposes that Biden will be supporting these black people who are unfairly abused by the law. On the other hand he is accepting the reality of racism in the United States for the Trump presidency and he wants to end it. He wants to end the deaths, especially black people’s deaths. Furthermore, he will not support the police disparagement and abuses to these people (black people). Finally, all this represents how Biden wants to make the difference and create a United States better for everyone. Finally, all this represents how Biden wants to make the difference and create a United States better for everyone.

I agree with your response Erlin because I also think that Biden will put a stop to racism and he will put a stop to all the deaths by that too. I believe that Biden will be more efficient in that and others important aspects than Trump was. On the other hand Biden is not working alone, he has a woman by vice-president and I believe that they both together will do a great job to this country (United States) can be better. I think the importance of this event is that Joe Biden won a historic election for President and gives hope to many Americans for the future. In the source titled “Biden wins White House, vowing new direction for divided U.S.”, it discussed that Joe Biden passed Donald Trump with the electoral college votes. One piece of evidence from “Biden wins White House, vowing new direction for divided U.S.” states, “Biden got the needed 270 Electoral College votes with a win in Pennsylvania on November 7.”. This shows Biden needed to win the Electoral College votes in Pennsylvania because other countries were taking long to count ballots therefore, Trump could’ve passed Biden. In conclusion Joe Biden won a historic election for president by winning electoral college votes in different states.

Thank you for your post, Benjamin. Your analysis is relevant, because social justice and racism is one of the major problems in America. I agree with your analysis that with Biden elected racism will finally be addressed, because as stated in your evidence "Biden also drew a contrast to Trump through a summer of unrest over the police killings of Black Americans including Breonna Taylor in Kentucky and George Floyd in Minnesota." In other words, I agree that we will finally see some type of change based on how both candidates handled the topic of racism and Police Brutality. Trump simply brushed it off and encouraged the "law" whilst Biden actually acknowledged the problem. After reading this post, a question I have is do you think Biden will bring changes to the problems he addressed?

The 2020 election has been pretty intense because of the candidates that are completely different two American citizens that think differently and run a country differently. I think the importance of this event is bringing America together as citizens and letting us decide who WE want. There was a bit of controversy with the ballots because of the votes Biden had which has triggered Trump supporters and Trump himself. One piece of evidence from “Trump has insisted on Twitter that ballots have been improperly counted and argued that President-elect Joe Biden’s victory is premature. Trump swore that his campaign would continue to file legal challenges in states where Biden was declared a narrow winner.” This shows the lack of leadership and childishness in our 45th President of the U.S.

The 2020 presidential election has been very confusing and manipulative at times. In the election both candidates share solutions and ideas about relevant topics in today's country. This election has improved a lot from the last presidential debate. As we remember from the last debate, there was a lot of talking and nothing was heard. In today's news, Biden and Kamala Harris have won the election. It is now Bidens responsibility to relieve the people from racial injustice, coronavirus, and tax debt. The importance of this event is so great that even other countries are so interested in how our country will turn out to be.

I think the importance of this event is to reunite everyone together even if it wasn’t what some people wanted to happen. In the article by the Associated Press titled “Biden wins White House, vowing new direction for divided U.S.” it states that Biden’s goal is to unite everyone together. "No, the purpose of our politics, the work of our nation, isn't to fan the flames of conflict, but to solve problems, to guarantee justice." This shows Biden trying to ease the tension. This is evidence of what a leader stands for. This makes it to be a good speech for a president elect where he states himself we have different opinions on politics but he promise to treat everyone with respect as he’ll hope the same for the opposing political party. Next we can expect the following: Kamala Haris being a real stepping stone for women in politics and a stop to racism in america. In a speech after the morning which declared Biden as the projected winner. Kamala had a powerful statement to say about women in politics. The Biden campaign was a bit uncertain to some folks but with the clearity with Kamala as vice president, people feel we will get progress done with the racial issues in america. One piece of evidence from Kamala Haris speech after the election results that supports my stance is “But while I may be the first woman in this office, I will not be the last, because every little girl watching tonight sees that this is a country of possibilities.” This shows the achievements women are making in America . This is evidence of women now being more involved in politics like the youngest congress women AOC. This matters because it shows America's slow but effective progress for freedom and opportunities for all.

For me the year 2020 has been a hard and a surprising year, and the 2020 debates and election results were unexpected, because at first Trump was winning and he was celebrating his victory way to soon. This event is historic because it has a record number of people that voted in this election and also because Kamala Harris will be the first black woman to become vice-president and the highest ranking woman to be in government. In the article by the Associated Press titled “Biden wins White House, vowing new direction for divided U.S.” it discusses why this election is important in a section titled,”A History-Making Election”. It states,”Kamala Harris also made history as the first Black woman to become vice president... She will become the highest-ranking woman ever to serve in government, four years after Trump defeated Hillary Clinton for president.” It then goes on to say,”A record 103 million voted early this year”. This matters because women, especially black women are finally able to see themselves being represented in government more, having one of the faces that represents the U.S around the world being a black woman is such a historical moment. Not only that but having a record number of people coming out to vote and Biden getting 74 million votes is important because more and more people are starting to participate in the process of electing government officials that end up having a direct affect on us.

Harris not only being the first Black south Asian woman to win vice president gives the many women out there hope that they one to one day will get there. She gives hope to all the little girls watching her victory. Their win was very necessary because I feel like they will bring the change we need to help the people and bring fairness back as much as possible. I think that Trump needs to stop being a little baby and needs to step up and be a leader and realize that he lost. He continues to deny this even though it has been proven that there was no cheating and all of his lawsuits are being dismissed by the courts. He needs to realize that this isn't 3rd grade and crying isn't going to get him what he wants.
