I completely disagree with Jamie because if you do a racial action against a race then apologize for it, it doesn't change the intention you were trying explain with your porduct and the actions that were taken with it

This is so racist, they should know that people would get offended because of this commercial , why even do something like that when people would get offended because of reason that it shows a reaction before and after using dove.

i think that this has to do with racism because they put African Americans then turn them into white. Dove is wrong for making that ad because they know what society we live in and how offensive it was. The pear soap ad is just sad , its basically showing that African American are suppose to be white.

The picture of the pear soap and the dove soap is a big example of racism, in that the 2 product want to make everyone white by turning a black person to a white person in terms of complexion.Again both pictures shows an example of white supremacy in both industries in that they want to turn all their buyers who are blacks white.

In the picture above it is criticizing colored people. It states colored people are dirty. Dove soap was getting controversal remarks because of their advertisement showing a black women turning into a white women after using dove soap. This is a huge example for racism and is showing very offensive details. The racist advertising did not start today or in the present although you can see the first image a black child is being washed in a tub by soap and comes out half white.

This ad is racist because it basically implies that a black person is "dirty". So, if a person who is dark skinned uses this soap then the aftermath will be them as someone of a lighter color.

I think it is racist because they are saying in other words that African Americans are dirty because of their skin color. It's Shows a before and After, and its shows that white people have lighter skin so they have clean skin. I would want the CEO of Dove to get Sued!

these ads shows racism stereotypes and blackface because white supremacy thought that African Americans were dirty and that they would ruin the country which wasn't true which this also manifest destiny. both images are racist and disrespectful toward African Americans the one from 1884 and the one from this year 2017.

The Dove ad is basically stereotype African American are "dirty" and should be using this soap to be clean. As in the picture above, using a White women as a example. But the pear ad is using the soap that will "change" your skin tone which is racist.

I believe that this picture is trying to say that white people are better than colored people and that African American's hygiene is not all that good. The dove picture shows an African American girl before using dove, and after she turned white. This commercial should be band because it's totally racist.

These sets of pictures both represent racism. In my honest opinion, i believe that Dove did this ad on accident. The reason why I believe this is because the people at Dove apologized right after for the offensive ad. But the other picture, in my opinion, is purely propaganda.

I think this ad is trying to say that dark skinned people are dirty but with the soap they will feel clean (white). This to me shows racism in a hidden way because it looked like they were trying to hide what they were really trying to say but the image gives off something different from the message it is showing.

This matters because people now and days are using Ad's as a racist way even if they really don't mean it. These are considered stereotypes for woman of color and I believe that it should stop because not only do people feel disrespected but people also have feelings and they get hurt. White Supremacy always has existed even back then in the eighteen hundreds they created an Ad of a white child showing soap to a black child in the tub and this implies that black people are dirty. This world if full of racism and it should definitely be stopped.

These images carry a historic significance due to the fact an ad in 2017 shows a subtle form of racism. In the past ads for example like the image on the left use images of black people to clean the black out of them, emphasizing that their all dirty. In 2017 a Dove ad did the same thing with an image of a black woman taking off her black shirt, in which the next image shows white woman taking off the black shirt or dirty skin from the black woman. Although this has happened i believe that Dove was being idiotic for approving the ad but i don't think it had a racist meaning behind it. I think the director of the ad should come Fourth and explain what "mark" she was trying to reach to the audience

In the first image it's clear that white supremacists made that soap advertisement saying that their soap works so well it makes a black man white. In the second image with dove, seeing the screenshot as it is my first reaction was "wow they just did that what racism." But seeing the video of the ad my second reaction differed from my first reaction and I got the message the screenshot left out the clear message that they were sending I mean a racist person would think this is racist but really isn't I might see what they see but think differently of what we see.

This image is an example of racism because Dove is try to say if you are African American you will turn in to white. They think it's okay to do those ads because they have money or a big company. Also because no one can do anything to them.

Both pictures are ignorant and bringing in a lot of cash from both black people and white people so them being racsit is just a big magnet for money to come in to their footsteps. The more attention we give them the more they will continue to do stuff like this.

In the video it shows how the soap can change your color to a fresh and clean color which was the white lady.Meaning that black people is dirty and dove would be the solution to their problem. In my opinion I say that dove company should be more careful more knowledge to what they want to sell.

These advertisement are very likely to be racist. It's very wrong that a white child is bathing a black child giving a message that African Americans are dirty and it will change their color skin. They should have not put it out in the society like that. There could have been other ways to give a message to use this kind of soap instead of using racism. Dove is out too because they are still using racism especially that its 2017. That's a shame.

The historical significance of the black and white women using the dove soap is to show that the soap is made to change the skin tone of colored people because in the picture the blakc girl was lifting up her shirt and when she took it off she was the while girl
